The Companion Animals Management Plan (CAMP) was originally developed in response to a recommendation from the NSW Office of Local Government (OLG). OLG's recommendation was that local councils develop plans to help manage and meet the requirements of the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998.
Ku-ring-gai Council's first CAMP was adopted in March 2006. The draft Plan 2026–2030 is the fifth version of the Plan. It follows the general structure and key actions of the previous versions, while building on existing programs.
