Planned Improvements

Tree Management

Our design prioritises preserving high-value street trees identified by Council's Consultant Arborist. A number of trees may however require removal or pruning due to their poor condition or the extent of proposed works.

Trees that may need to be removed:

  • Side boundary of No. 62 Kissing Point Road –
    • Mediterranean Cypress (low retention value, major root encroachment)
    • Sweet Pittosporum (low retention value, major root encroachment)
    • Wallangarra White Gum (low retention value, major root encroachment)
    • Blackbutt (dead)
  • Outside No. 57 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Blackbutt (major root encroachment)
    • Black Wattle (major root encroachment)
  • Between No. 53 and 55 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Red Mahogany (major root encroachment)
  • Outside No. 62 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Turpentine (major root encroachment)
    • Smooth-barked Apple (major root encroachment)
  • Outside No. 54 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Indian Bean Tree (overmature, very low retention value)
  • Outside No. 70 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Blackbutt (major root encroachment)

Trees to be retained (subject to arborist confirmation during construction):

  • Outside No. 53 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Weeping Bottlebrush (poor structure)
  • Outside No. 57 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Japanese Maple (Root encroachment)
  • Outside No. 64 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Blackbutt (possible root encroachment)
    • Smooth-barked Apple (possible root encroachment)
  • Outside No. 66 Catalpa Crescent –
    • Sasanqua Camellia (low retention value)

As part of our commitment to maintaining and improving our urban canopy, replacement tree planting using suitable species will be undertaken as part of the works.

Driveway treatment

All approved vehicle crossings will be replaced with new standard concrete driveways. Residents with existing gravel crossings will have an opportunity to upgrade to a new standard concrete crossing at their cost, during construction.

Timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin in mid 2026.
