More information

Council has received complaints about pedestrian safety when crossing Eastern Arterial Road and Hunter Avenue at the roundabout.

In particular, there are concerns about left turning vehicles exiting Hunter Avenue at speed when pedestrians are attempting to cross Eastern Arterial Road, as visibility is restricted on that corner.

Council is therefore proposing to install two asphalt speed cushions on Hunter Avenue before the roundabout.

The speed cushions would:

  • Slow vehicles as they approach the roundabout, which would reduce the likelihood of accidents
  • Improve safety for pedestrians crossing Hunter Avenue and Eastern Arterial Road.
