Ku-ring-gai Council is consulting with the community on proposed locations for new on-street electric vehicle charging stations in Gordon and Killara.
This page has been set up to present and gather feedback on on-street charging locations in Gordon and Killara.
We value your local knowledge and want to ensure these charging stations work well for everyone. Whether you drive an EV, are considering making the switch, or are concerned about impacts on parking, your feedback matters.
Here's how to participate
- Review the interactive map - Explore proposed locations and site details and provide your comments
- Complete our survey - Share your thoughts on specific locations and general feedback
What we want to know
- Location suitability: Do these sites make sense for your area?
- Local insights: Are there usage patterns or local considerations we should know about?
- Community needs: How would these chargers benefit (or impact) you and your neighbours?
Your feedback will directly influence which locations proceed to final approval and installation.

Why is this project happening
Electric vehicle adoption is growing rapidly in Ku-ring-gai, with many residents making the switch to cleaner, more efficient transport. However, not everyone has access to home charging, particularly:
- Apartment and townhouse residents
- Renters without garage access
- Visitors to our area
- Those with street parking only
On-street charging fills this important gap, ensuring all residents can participate in the transition to electric vehicles regardless of their housing situation.
What's being proposed
Two experienced EV charger operators - ChargePost and Plus ES - have been awarded NSW Government grant funding to install AC charging stations (up to 22kW) in strategic locations across our area. These chargers will:
- Provide convenient charging for residents without home charging access
- Support visitors to local businesses and facilities
- Add valuable infrastructure to existing parking spaces
- Operate on a user-pays basis with pricing set by the CPOs
Project details:
- Technology: AC charging up to 22kW with Type 2 plugs (BYO cable required)
- Locations: Carefully selected sites where people typically park for 2+ hours
- Cost: Fully funded by EV charger operators and NSW Government grants - no cost to Council or rate payers
- Timeline: Installation to be completed by May 2026
