Council is planning to upgrade the existing playground at Roseville Park. This will transform the current playspace into an attractive, engaging, and inclusive area that everyone in the community can enjoy.
The current playground is in need of an upgrade to improve access and opportunities for play. As a district park playspace, Roseville Park attracts visitors from outside the immediate neighbourhood, and the upgrade will better serve the growing residential community.
District Parks have features that attract people from outside the immediate neighbourhood. These include unique landscape character or large areas of open space for recreation. Roseville Park is categorised as a district park playspace, meaning it serves a wider community beyond just the surrounding streets.
Yes, improving accessibility for users of all ages and abilities is a key goal of this project. The design will incorporate inclusive play elements and accessible paths to ensure everyone can enjoy the space.
Natural play elements incorporate features like logs, boulders, plants, sand, and other natural materials that encourage creative, unstructured play. These elements help children connect with nature while developing physical and cognitive skills in a more organic setting than traditional playground equipment.
Council is undertaking a 2-phase process of community engagement to ensure the new design meets the needs and expectations of the local community:
- Phase 1 - Ideas gathering - undertaken in May 2025. We sought community input about the existing playground, how it is used, and gathering ideas for the future upgrade. The results of this assisted us in designing the concept plan that is now open for comment.
- Phase 2 - Consulting on the concept plan – NOW LIVE. The concept plan has been developed using feedback from Phase 1 consultation. Community input on this will assist in finalising the concept design.
Community feedback will be used to develop and refine the concept design. Phase 1 input informed the initial concept plan, while Phase 2 feedback will help finalise the design before construction begins.
